WW II

 Master Sergeant Ray Wenning joined the U.S. Army on April 22, 1944. He served during WWII. Ray attended basic training at Camp Blanding, FL. Afterbasic, Ray was shipped by boat, the “New Amsterdam”, to Glasgow,Scotland. From Scotland he traveled to South Hampton, England. Ray crossed the English Channel on a Liberty ship, to Omaha Beach, Normandy, France. Ray arrived as an infantry replacement, as a BAR (Browning Automatic Rifleman). He  traveled through France, Holland, (where he joined up with the 30th Div), and Germany. He ultimately was sent to the Battle of the Bulge, on Dec. 17th until Jan. 21st, 1945. Here he fought until he was carried off the battlefield with frozen hands and feet. He was treated in a hospital in England. After he recovered, he returned to France, where he was placed in charge of a 1919 Labor Supervision Co. He worked with German Prisoners of War (POW) as a First Sgt. In May 1946 Ray was sent back to the States and honorably discharged. He served in the Reserves for three years. Ray received his discharge from the reserves Feb. 15th, 1950 as a Master Sergeant.

                    Private 1st Class Leo Wenning, Ser.# 733573. Leo served during WWI, entering the service Oct. 2, 1917. Leo’s training took place at Camp Sherman, Chillicothe, Ohio. From there he was sent overseas to France, with the American Expeditionary Forces, on April 8th, 1918. First sent to the fronts of St. Michael, then to Verdum Oct. 14 to 25th. Private Wenning served with Co. F, 329th Infantry, 36th, and then to Co. B, the 6th U.S. Inf. Leo came home on the Dutch ship, Rotterdam. He was discharged May 1, 1919.

 During WWI Leo went to France and was assigned to the French 16th Headquarters. He was sent to Brest, France where he would haul horses that were used to pull artillery and ammo to the front lines. His next assignment was to the trenches in the front lines in Alsace Lorraine and the Museargon, France.

WW I

                     Major Robert Wenning earned his commission and entered the Air Force in November 1971. After training to fly helicopters, Bob was stationed at Edwards AFB, California, and was assigned to the 48th Rescue and Recovery Squadron. A few years later he was assigned to the Air Force Flight Test Center at Edwards and was involved in many developing programs. In 1978, Bob was selected to become a Test Pilot and trained at Petulant Naval Base, Maryland. He was then assigned to the 4950th Test Wing at Wright-Patterson AFB. In 1982, Bob was reassigned to Edwards AFB where he became a Test Pilot Instructor. He accumulated 3300 hours in various rotary and fixed-winged aircraft. In 1984, while on a training flight, Bob was killed when his motorized glider stalled shortly after take-off.

                      Ronald Wenning entered the United States Army in January, 1971 during the Vietnam War. After taking his basic training at Ft. Knox, Kentucky, his AIT training at Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri, he was then sent to Ashaffenburg, Germany in July of 1971. There he joined Co. D of the 9th Engineers as a squad leader, also a truck driver for the five-ton trucks. In this unit they were trained to build towers, floating bridges, field targets for tanks, installing rifle ranges, and installing minefields. After finishing his tour of duty, he returned to the States and was discharged from the service in January of 1973.

            Lt. Col. Teresa (Wenning) Waite is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Air Force. After two years in ROTC during college, Teresa was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1986 and served 13 years on active duty working in various nursing fields. Teresa has worked as a surgical nurse, pediatric intensive carenurse, and neonatal intensive care transporter nurse prior to earning her master’s as a pediatric nurse practitioner. While on active duty, Teresa had been stationed in Washington DC, San Antonio, Texas, Landstuhl, Germany, and Wichita Falls, Texas. In 1999, Teresa entered the Air Force Reserves and has since continued her service as an Individual Medical Augmentee (IMA) in Japan, Phoenix, Arizona,and at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton. She retired October 2007 as a Lt.Col.

                                 Sergeant Martha (Wenning) Brannon joined the Air Force in August 1985. After attending basic training at Lackland AFB, TX, she was sent to technical school at Keesler AFB, MS. She specialized in Personnel, more specifically as a Computer Analyst. After technical training, Martha was stationed at Wright - Patterson AFB, Dayton, Ohio. While there Martha met and married Mark Brannon and then was assigned to Bitburg AB, Germany. Mark and Martha supported Desert Storm while assigned in Germany. Before leaving Germany and after the birth of here daughter in July 1992, Martha separated from the service.

                        Master Sergeant Patricia (Wenning) Depweg joined the United States Air Force in September 1987. After attending basic training at Lackland AFB, TX, she went to technical school at Keesler AFB, MS. She spent 5 years active duty as a Guidance and Control Specialist working in the autopilot, navigational and instrumentation of KC-135, RC-135 and U-2 aircraft. Patti's entered the Air Force Reserves in 1992 and has since continued her service as an Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) where she served two more years as a mechanic then cross-trained into the paralegal career field. While serving in the Air Force, her tours included Eielson AFB, Alaska, Beale AFB, CA, RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom, Offutt AFB, NE and currently stationed at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio where she continues her paralegal work.

                              Technical Sergeant Mark Brannon, the husband of Martha (Wenning, entered the Air Force in April 1984. After attending basic training and technical training in Lakeland AFB, TX, specializing in the Military Working Dog program and Law Enforcement, he was sent to Incirlik AB, Turkey. Mark spent one year in Turkey and then was sent to Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. Here he worked with bomb and drug sniffing dogs. While at WPAFB he met and married his wife, Martha. Mark and Martha were both assigned to Bitburg, AB, Germany. While in Germany, Mark was sent TDY to many countries such as Russia (for the signing of the Peace Treaty with President George Bush. and Gorbachev), Jordan (during Desert Storm), back to Russia (departing the day before the cue happened), Paris, Luxemburg and many more for President Support wirth his explosive detector dog. After serving 3 three years in Germany, Mark returned to WPAFB to serve as Kennel Master until his retirement in May 2005.

                             Sp4 Christopher D. Post, United States Army, is the husband of Roselyn(Wenning), and the son of Don & MaryAnn Post of Siegrist-Jutte Rd, Coldwater. Chris is a graduate of Coldwater High School, class of 1984. He began his service for the U.S. Army in 1984 at Ft. Benning, Georgia. Chris served in the infantry as an anti-armor weapons crew member. From 1984 to 1985 he served in Ft. Lewis, Washington. From 1985 to 1986 Chris was stationed in the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt then back to Ft. Lewis, WA where he completed his tour in 1987. As a member of the 60th Infantry at Fort Lewis, Chris participated in the Multinational Peacekeeping Force and Observers (MFO) in the Sinai. His unit provided support to the primary U.S. military contingent that operated checkpoints, observation posts, and reconnaissance patrols along the Sinai Peninsula. The MFO, and independent agency responsible to the governments of Israel and Egypt, was established as a result of the 1979 Egypt-Israel peace treaty.

                           Major Ralph “Jack” Waite, the husband of Teresa Wenning, has been inthe Air Force since 1991. Initially a C-130 navigator, Jack later trained to be an F-16 fighter pilot. Since, he has become an instructor pilot in the F-16 and has taught at the F-16 school house at Luke AFB, Arizona. Jack has flown combat in several theaters including Operation PROVIDE PROMISE in the Balkans and Operation SOUTHERN WATCH in Iraq. Jack has been stationed in Germany, (where he met Terese), Japan, Phoenix, and Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. Currently, he is a “masters” student at the Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright-Patterson AFB. July 2006 he was assigned to the NOTA Air Commander in Izmir, Turkey. July 2007 he was transfered to F16 squadron in Spangdahlem,Germany.
